Lancaster continues to rush from building to building, occasionally looking over his shoulder to see if the creature is still there, and it is.
At length he enters a smaller, rather flimsy building, and all of a sudden the roof caves in on him. His pattern had become predictable, and the creature figured out which building he would be entering next, so it had leapt, and its huge body crushes the building Lancaster is in.
