Lancaster walks in the hourglass shaped door of the tower. There are immediately steps leading up, which he follows to a relatively small room with large windows facing out toward the ocean and smaller windows which point toward the sky. A third of the floor on the opposite side of the room is transparent so he can look down at the ocean, and there are scopes in the room that look out the windows in the various directions.
Looking out the large windows, Lancaster sees nothing but fog. But when he peers through the devices, he sees right through the fog into the distance. One of them is pointed toward a coral island which has tall hills and holes on all sides, but also has a few small buildings built into some of these holes. Also on the reef is a small vessel and some unsavory looking characters carrying various things out of the holes. They don't look like archeologists; in fact they look like pirates to Lancaster.
