Lancaster walks forward, and soon the buildings begin to take shape ahead of him.  They clear the mist and he begins to see their stone-metallic features.  They look like silent ghosts standing firm against the drifting mist.  It is frighteningly silent here, except for the soft footfalls beneath Lancaster's feet.  When he occasionally hears the chirp of an insect or the scuttling of a rodent, Lancaster freezes, nervous that a predator has heard him.

The buildings, though fascinating, appear to be empty.  There are three larger buildings near the center of town that particularly catch Lancaster's attention, a building that is devoured by long, tendril weeds; an oval building with a large hole on the top, a building with slanted roofs sloping in various directions.
